Villa Alejo made quite an architectural splash when it was built in 1966 in the Modernist manner. It attracted the overflow crowd from the adjacent Movie Colony, visitors which included Frank Sinatra and the Kennedy clan. It's just a block from the main downtown street in Palm Springs. You can park you car and never have to get in it again; the place is heavy with decent eateries and there's always the street fair on Thursday night to make you want to open your wallet for some handcrafted goods or great foods.

Imagine splashing around in a spacious double shower with murals on the ceiling to delight your senses? Then retire to the California King bed, refreshed after a long day of laying out by the pool, sitting in the sauna, or excercising in the Villa Alejo's excercise room.

Villa Alejo isn't just for vacations; many owners still occupy them, so there's a good mix of people here. This unit is just outside the parking area, with spaces for handicapped parking right at the door. There are no stairs to go up, and only a short walk down the hallway from the parking lot to the condo entrance.

The condo is like home--or perhaps better than home. There's a 42" flat panel TV with hundreds of chanels to fritter your time away watching, free wi-fi if you need it, and free telephone calls within the US.

The murals you see in the pictures were painted by Russel Blackburn, who also happens to have done Oprah's house.

The owners like to cook, so the kitchen is better equipped than most. It has a coffee bar and Italian black tiles line the walls. There is a huge refrigerator, plus another just for beverages--so you don't have to go far for a cold one. The kitchen has plenty of spices and cooking oils so you don't have to worry about buying all the little things when you arrive; there will be coffee waiting for you to make it at the coffee bar in the kitchen.
